Player Profiles – Yousif Al-Kaabi

Personal background

Originally from Iraq, Yousif’s father worked for the British Embassy in Baghdad and the family was relocated to Glasgow two and a half years ago. He likes the city, and Scotland, very much and hopes to stay – probably developing a career in the restaurant industry.

Interest in football

A highly skilled player, Yousif (23) used to be part of a professional team in Iraq but his prospects were damaged by injury.

“Football is what I really love, I would play it all the time, but I suffered an injury which means I cannot play nearly as much as I would like.”

Forest Pitch

Yousif’s father told him about Forest Pitch and he was keen to get involved.

“It’s a great chance to play some football, and I have really enjoyed the training sessions. I am very much looking forward to the match and to having my family there among the crowd. It should be a really good event.”
